  • Sarah Ratcliffe

    Programme Director

    Sarah is Programme Director of the BBP. Sarah has over 15 years experience advising many of the UK’s leading property investors and developers on sustainability issues. As a founding Director of Upstream (acquired by JLL in 2007), she was instrumental in establishing some of the earliest sector sustainability benchmarks including the Property Environment Group, NextGeneration and The Third Dimension. As a European Director at JLL Sarah was responsible for leading the firm’s sustainability consultancy in UK and Europe and sat on the Global Sustainability Board. In addition to various independent consultancy projects, Sarah is now a Board Director of the Sustainable Development Foundation.  

  • Chris Botten

    Programme Manager

    Chris is the Programme Manager for the Better Buildings Partnership. His responsibilities cover the day to day management of the BBP and the running of the Working Groups. Chris first started out as a Climate Change Officer for the London Climate Change Agency before working as a Project Manager in the London Development Agency Environment and Climate Change Team.

    Christopher holds an MSc in Sustainable Environmental Management.

  • Ben Grimshaw

    Senior Project Manager

    Ben is a Senior Project Manager for the BBP. His responsibilities include the delivery of the Design for Performance initiative, the ESG Training programme and the Managing Agents Partnership. Ben's sustainability journey commenced in Australia, initially as Regional Sustainability Manager for Hilton Australasia, before managing various programmes for the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage. Working for the City of Sydney's tenant engagement programme 'CitySwitch', Ben edited and published their Guide to Office Waste. Qualifying as a NABERS assessor, Ben joined CBRE's Sydney office as a Sustainability Manager, completing audits on behalf of their clients, tracking performance and advising on other sustainability initiatives.

    Ben holds an MA in Law from Cambridge University and a BA in Business and Hotel Management from Southern Cross University.

  • Amrita Dasgupta

    Project Manager

    Amrita is a Project Manager for the Better Buildings Partnership. She is responsible for supporting the delivery of BBP’s outputs with particular focus on the Real Estate Energy Benchmarking system and the Managing Agent’s Partnership.  Amrita has over ten years of experience within the Low Carbon Building sector. In her previous role with De Montfort University, she was seconded as the Strategy Lead for Sustainability at Leicester City Council, where she led the delivery of carbon reduction within the schools’ capital projects.  Amrita has published in internationally recognized journals and is an Hon. Research Fellow and guest lecturer at De Montfort University. 

    Amrita has an M.Sc in Environmental Engineering and Design from UCL, London. 

  • Anneli Tostar

    Stakeholder Engagement Manager

    Anneli is the BBP’s Stakeholder Engagement Manager. Her role is to assist in the day-to-day management of the organisation and support the development and delivery of the BBP’s work programme through knowledge sharing across a range of the BBP’s activities, both internally and externally.

    Before joining the BBP Anneli worked for a sustainability consultancy, a consultancy focused on the social value of spaces, and a workplace culture consultancy. She has also worked as a journalist for a variety of publications. Anneli holds an MSc in Sustainable Urban Planning & Design from KTH Stockholm, and a BA in Social Anthropology and Environmental Science & Public Policy from Harvard University.
