The awards recognised achievements across eight categories, ranging from ‘Best Energy & Utility Management’ to ‘Best Customer Engagement’ and ‘Sustainability Champion of the Year’.

JLL continues to streamline sustainability as core to its property management service with this year’s success of its inaugural  ‘Responsible Property Management Awards’. Entries were open to all 4,000+ commercial properties managed by JLL’s UK Property & Asset Management (PAM) team and aimed to create a friendly air of competition.

Over 100 award submissions were received across a spread of geographies and property types. The winners of each category were announced at an enjoyable awards night held at JLL’s UK HQ on 31st October 2018 and attended by over 100 guests including clients, supply partners, sponsors, and external judges of the Awards.

By incentivising leading practices and promoting these broadly, the awards were intended to help further embed sustainability throughout JLL’s PAM portfolio.

The winning submissions will be released as case studies, including practical tips from site teams on how to implement, helping to fertilise these practices throughout JLL PAM and JLL client portfolios. Following the inaugural success of the Awards, they will return in 2019 with even more ambitious aims.

Ben Tolhurst, head of UK Property Asset Management at JLL commented: “Sustainability and environmental matters are at the very heart of our culture, ethos and strategy. Our Responsible Property Management Awards enabled us to encourage, support and showcase the fantastic work which our teams, clients and supplier partners do every day right across the country. It’s humbling and inspiring for everyone to see these real-life examples being celebrated and having these awards will continue to drive sustainability across our management portfolio.”

Andries van der Walt, head of Sustainability for Property & Asset Management at JLL said: "We are pleased with the level of innovation and quality of our people in delivering sustainable property management services. These awards allow us to shine the light on these leading teams and inspire others to do the same. We look forward to receiving an even bigger and better number of submissions to the RPM Awards next year!”
