Improving Waste Management Practices: Standardised reporting framework

Accuracy, consistency and transparency are the most important factors for effective reporting. Yet, the BBP Managing Agents Partnership’s recent publication Waste Not Want Not identified numerous shortcomings in the industry’s approach to collecting and reporting waste management data.

The quality and integrity of waste data is comparatively poor to other sustainability criteria, such as energy and carbon, due to a lack of standardisation and sophistication of industry benchmarking and reporting frameworks.

This document, developed by the Managing Agents Partnership in collaboration with leading waste management service providers, provides a template for reporting waste data and guidance on volume to weight conversion factors, to encourage consistency in how waste data is collected and reported.
